Converting Matroska Multimedia Container (MKV) to Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) involves a transformation between two specialized encoding specifications. MKV is an open-standard container capable of holding an unlimited number of video, audio, picture, or subtitle tracks inside one file.
GIF provides frame-by-frame timed animation with 1-bit transparency and an indexed 256-color palette, compressed using patent-free LZW encoding.
